Lena is the author of Amreekiya, an Arab American Book Award winner and a finalist for the Louise Meriwether First Book Prize. Library Journal described the novel as “relevant for people worldwide,” and it was named one of Foreword’s “Four Phenomenal Debut Novels” in 2018.
Lena has also received two Pushcart nominations: one for an excerpt of Amreekiya, published as “Al Walad” in KNOT Literary Magazine, and for her personal essay “The Psyche of a Palestinian American Writer,” published in Fifth Wednesday Journal. Her work has also appeared in The Offing, Sukoon, A Gathering Together, East Jasmine Review, and Pulp Literature.
